Platinum Edition Show Choir Leadership
Nancy Allen

Nancy Allen (director) is professor of music at Viterbo University. She teaches music education courses, Conducting I, Theory I and II, is music director for university theatre productions, and supervises student teachers. Allen founded and directs Platinum Edition, Viterbo's collegiate show choir which has forty-four members. Platinum Edition recently performed as the host collegiate choir at the FAME Show Choir Competition in Orlando and Nationals in Chicago. Platinum Edition show choir enjoys hosting and performing at the Viterbo 101 Show Choir Competition each January. Originally from La Crosse, Allen received her Bachelor of Music degree from Viterbo College in 1984, where she majored in piano performance and K-12 vocal music education. She received her Master of Music in Choral Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1988. Allen taught music in Iowa for 14 years. She was active in the Iowa Choral Directors Association. Currently she is serving the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association as Standards and Repertoire Chair for Show Choir. Allen enjoys working as a professional accompanist and has played over 90 musicals and operas. She is director of the Sanctuary Choir at the First Congregational Church and is enjoying her eighth year as organist. Allen founded and directs the Coulee Kids Choir, a show choir made up of 5th–9th grade students from the area.

Shane Rhoades

Shane Rhoades (choreographer), is an Assistant Professor at Viterbo University in the Theatre and Musical Theatre Department after spending 20 years living and working in New York City.  At Viterbo he serves as the Dance Minor Coordinator and directed Dance Kaleidoscope 2017 & 2019. Shane directed and choreographed Viterbo’s productions of A Chorus Line, Shout!, and Little Women. He also choreographed 9 to 5, Pippin, West Side Story, Oklahoma, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dancing at Lughnasa, and She Stoops to Conquer. Shane is also the Assistant Director for Viterbo’s show choir, Platinum Edition, and he serves as a clinician and judge for numerous show choir competitions around the country. Shane made his Broadway debut in The Boy From Oz starring Hugh Jackman, and he was the Associate Choreographer for Broadway’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Off-Broadway he danced in FAME on 42nd St. His national and international touring credits include Pippin, A Chorus Line, West Side Story, Chicago, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Grinch.  Regionally he has performed at Paper Mill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Arena Stage, The Ordway, North Shore Music Theatre, St. Louis MUNY, Pittsburgh CLO, Sacramento Music Circus, Atlanta Theater of the Stars, Houston Theatre Under the Stars, and Stages St. Louis.
