You should seek medical assistance if you are ill. It is important that everyone stay at home or in their residence hall room if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have been advised to isolate due to contact with a COVID-19 positive individual. Employees should contact Human Resources. Students should contact the Director of Health Services Sue Danielson. They will provide additional guidance. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to enter academic, recreational, or administrative buildings.
Regular COVID-19 testing will be required for all unvaccinated students, typically in alternate weeks. Students without a COVID-19 vaccination record on file will be notified via their Viterbo email address and scheduled for testing approximately every two weeks. If a student receives a vaccine during the semester, they will be exempt from testing once they reach their fully vaccinated status as defined above. See Vaccination and Testing Policy for Students.
On-campus students may be asked to temporarily relocate to an alternate campus location during their quarantine. In certain circumstances, students will remain in their current campus placement throughout their quarantine. The determination of location will be made by the Residence Life staff. Students can also return to their permanent address if they are able to effectively quarantine/isolate. While in campus quarantine/isolation, students will have meals delivered to them and are encouraged to reach out to residence life with any additional needs. Residence life will honor those needs/requests as staffing levels allow. All on-campus quarantined/isolated students are receiving daily health check-ins from health services, and contact from university staff members to ensure their physical and mental well-being.
Off-campus students will be asked to quarantine/isolate in their off campus residence or their permanent residence if they are able to effectively do so. Viterbo is not able to accommodate quarantine/isolation space requests from students living off campus.
Students in quarantine/isolation should not leave their residence unless talking out the trash or in case of emergency.
The response team has recommended and the cabinet and deans leadership group has approved the lifting of the campus mask mandate, effective immediately. Unvaccinated individuals are still strongly encouraged to remain masked indoors in accordance with the current recommendations from the CDC. Vaccinated individuals may of course continue to mask if so desired. This policy can be changed at the discretion of university leadership due to a change in the pandemic situation locally and/or regionally. Everyone is asked to remain diligent in maintaining a safe environment for the campus community.
The COVID-19 Response team continues to support planning for study abroad in the 2021-22 academic year. The final decisions will be made as the travel dates approach and will be dependent on the conditions in the destination countries and within the U.S.
Personal travel to high risk areas is discouraged.
