Come Home to Viterbo
The annual Viterbo Days Alumni Weekend returns Oct. 6–9 with all the traditional elements, including the Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony, the 50-year class reunion, and the alumni baseball game. The Weekend of the Arts theme that started with last year's 50th anniversary celebration of the Fine Arts Center is back, with a Saturday afternoon choir concert that will feature alumni singing on several selections. As always, there's just one form to sign up for any Viterbo Days events.

A 2010 Viterbo graduate, Kira Peters began teaching at Viterbo in January 2020. Her exhibit, Leave the Light On, is a collection of paintings created over the past decade. The objects featured in this exhibition reflect transition and familiarity.
As a still-life artist, she is drawn to containers, fabric and texture, gardening, and other everyday items. Peters practices the alla prima method, which involves painting wet-on-wet, with works usually completed in one sitting.
The paintings in the exhibit, which runs Sept. 7–Oct. 26, tell a story of the pieces of everyday life, and the creation of many of the works helped Peters cope with the stress and isolation of pandemic shutdowns.
