Why did you choose VU? I chose Viterbo University because of the type of school.  I felt it was a great fit for me and I wanted to take an opportunity not many get, and that is to go far from home and experience something on my own.  I also got a scholarship for track, the Deans Scholarship, and the MBA+1 program also encouraged my decision.

Favorite place on campus and why? My favorite place on campus is the Assisi Courtyard.  I enjoy being outdoors and seeing the green.  Once the Winter hits outdoor activities are limited so I enjoy the warmth and nice weather of being outside.  The courtyard is kept in amazing shape and on the nicest places on campus.

Favorite place or thing to do in La Crosse? My favorite thing to do in lacrosse is to go to Pettibone beach during the warmer season.  Many of my friends bring music, food, and drinks down to Pettibone and throw a Frisbee or a football or something.  There are always people there and it’s a very fun place to go.

Advice for prospective students conducting their college-search?  Don’t go somewhere just because you know people there and that’s what makes your decision.  I came all the way from Georgia to a place not many southerners are and I didn’t know a single person.  Now, I have friends all over La Crosse and even some in nearby places.  I have never regretted my decision and it is probable one of the best ones I have made.

Career aspirations?  I want to be a director of a marketing firm.

How’s the food?  The food is honestly pretty good.  Steve always makes specialties during the week and personalized sandwiches and burgers are at your disposal as well.

Favorite meal in the caf? My favorite meal are Joan’s Pita bread sandwhiches.  She has even memorized my order and always has it ready when she sees me.

Anything else? Lastly, go to the sports games.  Just because Viterbo is a smaller school doesn’t mean that the games aren’t wild.  The games are really fun to go to!
