WI Reading Teacher 316

Portfolio



All Reading Teacher 1316 candidates will complete an electronic portfolio. The portfolio is a longitudinal account of the educator's learning and growth over time. Contributions to the portfolio will take place throughout the duration of the program and will prove to be a valuable tool for interviewing purposes, self-reflection, and demonstration of skills. The portfolio must earn a passing score within six months of the final course in the program.

The purpose of the portfolio is to:

  1. demonstrate professional growth, understanding, and application of course content 
  2. demonstrate the impact of newly acquired knowledge, skills, and dispositions on PK-12 student learning
  3. demonstrate competency in the Wisconsin State Teacher Standards and the PDF iconINTASC Teaching Standards as related to literacy.
     

Successful completion of an assessment portfolio is a requirement of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and Viterbo University.

Portfolio Resources:



Graduate Tuition: $380 per credit (plus $10 per credit resource fee) for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Apply to the Reading 1316 Program: click on the "Apply Now" tab on the left of this page. All students who intend to register for courses must complete the application process prior to registering for courses.

Register for Courses:  Returning students will register via Viterbo's online course registration system, VitNet. New students will be registered by Viterbo staff.  Contact Graduate Education Advisor, Mary Beth Sinniger with questions. Courses with less than a minimum of 10 students registered are at risk of cancellation.
