The Viterbo community is invited to celebrate Constitution Day with presentations by history department faculty members about the topic of the separation of church and state from 1:25­-2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17 in the School of Nursing Building room 196. The presentations will be "Corporations and Birth Control: The Supreme Court¹s Hobby Lobby Case" by Keith Knutson; "The Creator or Divine Providence: Religion, Politics and the Founding of the Republic," by Samuel Scinta; and "Building Heaven on Earth: Jim Bakker and the Rise of the Sunbelt in the 1970s," by Eric Weinberg.


The Philosophical Inquiry (P.I.) Club will host its first meeting of the school year on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 4 p.m. in Reinhart Center 127. Viterbo faculty and staff members are invited are to attend an Event Management System Virtual New User Information Session from 1:30­–2:30 p.m. or 2:30­–3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 in Reinhart Center room 127. Virtual EMS is a web-based application that allows users to browse events in a calendar, view campus facility information and individually reserve space on campus. The Franciscan Spirituality Center and Viterbo Campus Ministry invite students to The Busy Student Retreat. The retreat will occur Sunday, Sept. 21­–Thursday, Oct. 2 and will include individual prayer and nightly community prayer activities, four meetings with a spiritual director, and several free meals.
