2013 Theme: LOVE
The 2013 conference is the third in a series of three conferences on the theological virtues. We invite papers examining the meaning, history, and practical implications of the idea of love as a virtue.We encourage submissions from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
Presentations may include the following topics:
- The role of love in the moral life
- The psychology of love
- Love in relationship to the other virtues
- Historical conceptions of love
- Cultural perspectives on love and hate
- Love and its counterfeits
Keynote Speaker
Carol Gilligan, New York University
Presentation proposals should be no more than two pages in length and include name, affiliation, address, and email address. Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes with ample time provided for discussion. Proposals for panel discussions and “works in progress” are encouraged. Deadline for submission is January 10, 2013.
