The truth is that I need new shoes
ones with stronger soles to carry
these lead feet impossible to move my father was
gotta keep it moving, moving
born with itchy feet,
never staying in one place not meant to watch
one foot forward putting in front of the
other stumbling, stumbling falling down
standing back up

“you look just like your mother”

and no other whisper hear those birds chirping
night falling out of the trailer window
