Theatre History and Literature I

This course is a survey of Western theatre practice and dramatic texts from the Greeks into the 17th century. Students examine, in addition to the dramatic texts of the period, the impact of performance spaces, aesthetic theories, religious beliefs, and the contemporary politics of a given era on the development of drama. Prerequisite: ENGL 104 or 105 or 195. WCII
