Testimonials

Thank you for EVERYTHING!  Attending Viterbo and being a part of this great cohort was the best choice I could have made upon returning to the states.     Matt, BFSS

As a returning student, I found the Viterbo Post Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Program to be manageable and rewarding.  I enjoyed interacting as a part of a cohort - it allowed for on-going dialouge and growth along each step of the way.  This program provides an excellent path to licensure for a motivated individual interested in pursuing a rewarding career.     Claire, English Teacher

The fact that the Viterbo Post Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Program allowed me to get my Technology Education license while remaining fully employed was a huge factor in selecting the program.  Other programs would have required me to quit my job and move.  The coursework, which combined hands-on technology classes at Western Technical College and education classes at Viterbo University, gave me a significant employment advantage over students from other programs.     Chuck, Technology Education Teacher

I arrived on a Thursday to see about getting a teaching license some day.  In about an hour, I was signed up for classes and I started them the very next Tuesday!  While other schools have red tape and barriers, Viterbo University goes out of its way to accommodate you.     Steve, English Teacher

Viterbo provided me with the perfect path to combine my undergraduate degree in accounting with my desire to teach. The program was very efficient and offered numerous opportunities to get into the classroom even before student teaching.  I would recommend this program to anyone looking to obtain a teaching license after being in the workforce for a period of time.     Kate, Business Teacher

As a non-traditional student, I feel Viterbo's Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensing Program is one of the best in the nation. The instructional staff at Viterbo University's Department of Education care deeply about the preparation of sound education professionals, realizing, as they keenly do, the dearth of qualified and versatile educators who are at ease with modern instructional techniques and best practices. And they tap into the local community, selecting only the most exemplary mentors to shepherd novice education professionals into the new and ever-changing world of education.

As a non-traditional student going back to school for my post-baccalaureate licensure, at no time did I feel I was just a number.  The instructional staff and program coordinators at Viterbo went out of their way to make sure they were addressing every one of my concerns as a novice educator, and were always proactive in addressing especially those concerns which I, as a novice educator, could not have anticipated:  adapting instruction to diverse communities of students, professional development, legal issues in education—such as those arising from the use of technology, copyright law, student-teacher interaction, and so on.

I would recommend Viterbo University's Post-Baccalaureate program because of the support that is provided, even after completion of the program--especially after completion of the program! Whereas at other, larger educational institutions, you are on your own, after you've paid the tuition and graduated from the program, Viterbo continually provided me support with my job search, interviewing, job market research, etc.

Finally, Viterbo's tuition is competitive with other institutions' tuition and strives to accommodate non-traditional schedules.  I completed my licensure in about a year, and the courses were mostly during the evenings.     Flavio, Spanish Teacher
