Sports Wrap-up
The baseball team had a true comeback season, rebounding from last season’s 12-win struggle to tie the school record for victories. Under second-year coach Chad Miller, the V-Hawks posted a 32–20 record in the regular season and a 14–10 record in conference. The team also defeated the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to win the annual Wells Fargo Copeland Cup game.
The Viterbo softball team had a tough season, finishing seventh in the MCC. First year coach Ryan DeLong’s team saw a bit of everything this year, from being victorious in a doubleheader sweep by a combined score of 35–0 to a 10-game losing streak shortly thereafter. Soon after that streak, the V-Hawks posted maybe the surprise of the conference season when they became the only MCC team other than Waldorf College to defeat William Penn.
