New Grants

  • The Northwestern Mutual Foundation awarded $10,000 to be used to help Milwaukee inner city teachers take master’s level reading licensure courses at Viterbo.
  • The AGE program of the Wisconsin Foundation for Independent Colleges provided $8,000 in support of a collaborative project with the La Crosse County Aging Unit in which Viterbo dietetics students will work with the elderly, providing nutritional and wellness information and activities.
  • The Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis gave $25,000 for the creation of a Parish Nurse Ministry Resource Center.
  • The La Crosse Community Foundation Corinne Zielke Baseball Fund provided $1,600 to purchase a pitching machine for the Viterbo baseball team.
  • The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration Ministry Fund awarded $6,000 for the creation of a Parish Nurse Ministry Resource Center and $6,000 for CARING, Inc. CARING, Inc. provides health education, screening, and referrals for the homeless and other clients of the Salvation Army, and provides public health experience for Viterbo’s student nurses.
  • The Emory T. Clark Family Foundation awarded $25,000 to help inner city Milwaukee teachers take master’s level courses at Viterbo’s West Allis campus.
  • The Liberace Foundation awarded a $3,000 Liberace Scholarship. The Liberace Foundation Scholarship is given to only 40 to 50 college juniors nationally every year enrolled in a course of study leading to a career in the arts.
  • Title VI (International Study and Foreign Languages) awarded $154,330 over two years to build a Latin America studies program at Viterbo.
  • The 3M Vision Grant provided $35,410 for projects involving service learning in art, philosophy, and dietetics at the Amie L. Mathy Center for Recreation and Education.
