Faith in Science, Faith in Religion
The “Faith in Science, Faith in Religion” lecture by retired professor James Gallagher and Monsignor Bernard McGarty explored areas of controversy in science and religion, touching on topics such as evolution, intelligent design, and the Bible’s book of Revelation.
Gallagher and Msgr. McGarty also examined the differences in how Christian churches react to new discoveries in science. Now retired, Gallagher is the founder of the archeology department at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. Msgr. McGarty is the visiting scholar in ecumenical studies at Viterbo. He gives two lectures a year in the areas of religious studies and ecumenism.
