The STUDENT TRANSITION AND REGISTRATION program is guided by the principles of academic anticipation. Overall, STAR is designed to allow first year students to begin the psychological and academic transition to college, to start the development of a mature, confident sense of self, and to begin to form relationships with peers, faculty, and staff. The specific goals of the one day program are:
- To begin to build student confidence and ease anxiety about the transition to college.
- To inform parents/guardians about issues affecting their sons and daughters as students.
- To learn about academic standards and expectations.
- To introduce student support services.
- To register for fall semester classes.
The faculty, administration, and staff are pleased that you have chosen to enroll at Viterbo University to pursue your undergraduate studies. The first step in your journey is the STUDENT TRANSITION AND REGISTRATION (STAR) program. This one day program is designed to register you for fall classes and to introduce you and your parents/guardians to the Viterbo University community. We want to provide you with an introductory experience of what it means to be a Viterbo University student in and out of the classroom. We hope that you will leave STAR more prepared and more confident as a first year Viterbo University student, ready to meet the challenges of higher education.
