Teacher Perceiver Information
Some school districts will require teacher candidates to take a pre-screening test before deciding whom to interview. The Teacher Perceiver is the most popular of these tests in our state. Candidates are encouraged to refect on vision, mission, empathy, teamwork, problem solving, and committment. Each one of these questions is getting at how the candidate applies this to the student. The applicant needs to be specific and to the point---rambling only hurts the applicant's score. There are different forms of perceivers, but each one is assessing the potential fit of the candidate to that school district. Schools are drilling deeper than just the lesson plan and content knowledge to locate candidates who are highly motivated, loyal and work well with people.
