This course examines the accounting principles used to maintain an organization's financial records and to prepare the current and fixed asset portion of the Balance Sheet for use by its external stakeholders. Topics include the conceptual framework underlying financial accounting, the time value of money, and preparation of the asset side of the Balance Sheet, including cash and receivables, valuation of inventories, property, plant and equipment, natural resources and intangible assets.
