Step 3: Group Interviews

The group interviews will occur on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 8:30 - 11:00 AM.  There will be three group interview sessions conducted in the morning.  Each 40-minute interview will consist of a group of 10-15 applicants participating together in exercises that will generate discussion related to the RA role.  For example, the applicants may be given a scenario to discuss and respond to, or may be asked to roleplay as an RA. The actual exercises that are used are determined by the residence life professional staff.

The purpose of the group interview process is to hear your thoughts, perspectives and ideas relative to the RA job.  It is also designed to gauge how you might interact with other people on the job, since most of what the work RAs do is with groups.  Lastly, the group interviews are also designed to help you learn more about the RA position is about.  At the end of each session there will be to ask questions to the professional staff and current RAs.

In order to participate in the group interview, you must meet the requirements of an RA, complete the application, and have your three reference sheets in.  You will be contacted be the Office of Residence Life once you are eligible to participate in the group interview process.

For questions or concerns about the group interview, please contact the Office of Residence Life at 608-796-3116.
