Substance Free Housing

A Substance Free environment shall be defined as one where the following are prohibited:

  • all use of cigarettes, cigars or tobacco in any form;
  • use and/or possession of alcohol and/or other drugs, which are prohibited by state law and/or Viterbo University policy (i.e., use of marijuana, misuse and/or abuse of prescription drugs, etc.)

The Substance Free policy applies to all common areas, private rooms, hallways, stairwells, and lounges. You are prohibited from returning to the Substance Free community while under the influence of any substance. Substance Free community members are also responsible for the behavior of their guests, and must assume accountability for their actions.
