Marv L. Friedewald

This site is dedicated to remembering Marv Friedewald as a friend, colleague, educator, and mentor.
Marv served at Viterbo University from 1976–2000 in the university's business department of which he was founder and chair. He was an associate professor in the Dahl School of Business at the time of his retirement.
Friedewald was also a loyal patron of the university's athletics department, acting as its Faculty Athletics Representative his entire tenure. Marv’s commitment to Viterbo and its athletics department was unwavering. He was an avid fan of all sport teams and served as an assistant coach for softball in 1988 and 1989.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here," Marv said in an interview for Strides magazine. "The students are the most important thing for me, and the friendships that I’ve made will be lasting."
We thank you Marv, for your friendship and inspirational presence during your 24 years at Viterbo. You will be profoundly missed. Rest in Peace.
