Health Hawks has a new format!

The program kicked off on September 26th! There is still available slots for interested participants. Email wellness@viterbo.edu to get involved!

Goal: Provide a health and wellness program to the Viterbo community to promote healthy lifestyle choices.

 

Program Structure:
  • Entire program is 6 months long
 
  • Registration Fee: $50 for full year or $25 per semester 
    • Includes:
      • Group meetings & activity sessions
      • Nutrition counseling sessions
      • Personal training sessions
        • Exercise programs, which are written after initial fitness assessment is completed
         
      • Fitness assessments twice during the program
      • Monthly electronic newsletter
      • Articles
        • Use to track habits – exercise & nutrition as well as anything else they’d like to know
         
      • Information guides
       
     

 

  • All participants are required to complete the following:
    • Personal Information with Health and Wellness Goals
    • ASCM Medical and Health History Questionnaire
    • Sign a Waiver
    • Pay $25 Registration Fee
     

 

  • Personal Training and other fitness services
    • Provided through Rec Sports
    • Physical fitness assessments
    • Body composition testing done monthly (if desired)
    • Weigh ins done every couple of weeks (if desired)
    • Modifications and new programs will be distributed as needed to participants throughout
    • Eventually participants are to work on their own
     

 

  • Nutrition Counseling
    • Initial assessment
    • Optional one-on-one sessions (opposite week as meetings)
    • Work with Dietetics Department
     

 

  • Support
    • Group meetings
      • Speakers – nutrition students, trainers and hope to obtain experts as well.
      • Meeting Schedule: TBD 
      • Participants need to bring their IDs!
       
    • Group Activities & Workouts
    • Cooking Class
    • Informational Guides
    • And more!
     

 

  • Upon registration, each participant will receive:
    • Participant Handbook/guidelines
    • Health and Wellness Journal
    • Health Hawks t-shirts (will receive at the end of the program)
