What are the requirements of this program?
This is a 19 credit program with a portfolio requirement. You must have a state issued teaching license as well as a minimum of two years of classroom teaching in a regular classroom. Up to six credits may be waived if comparable classes have been taken within seven years. Upon receipt of official transcripts, the coordinator will determine if any classes fit these criteria.
How long do I have to complete this program?
You have seven years to complete this program including portfolio approval.

You will find the application for admission on this site's homepage. You will need to complete the application on-line and then mail in select items indicated at the end of the application.

EDUC 640 Balanced Literacy in the Reading Program – 3 credits
EDUC 681 Emergent Literacy – 3 credits
EDUC 605 Inclusion of Students with Special Needs – 3 credits
EDUC 650 Content Reading and Study Strategies – 3 credits
EDUC 580 Children and Adolescent Literature in the Reading Program – 3 credits
EDUC 529 Assessment and Treatment of Reading Difficulties with Practicum – 4 credits
*You must submit your portfolio within six months of completing your coursework.
Is this program offered online?
This program is not offered online; however, one of our classes EDUC 605 is offered online.

$310/credit from September 1, 2011-August 31, 2012.
