Reading endorsement courses may be taken without enrolling in a Master of Arts in Education program; however, application to the Reading Endorsement Program is required.

The Reading Endorsement Program may be part of the Master of Arts in Education degree. These courses can be used as electives.

Individuals who want to complete a K–8 or 5–12 reading endorsement or a K–12 reading specialist must complete an application to the Viterbo University-Iowa Center Reading Endorsement Program. Up to 6 equivalent undergraduate credits, if requested by the applicant, may be transferred. A determination will be made for any course work equivalency credits after an application packet, including official transcripts, has been received.
