Maintenance Technicians
With the extreme cold snap of weather, the maintenance technicians have been vigilantly watching over the heating units to ensure they keep running and producing heat. At times, this has been proven to be difficult.
Trainings within the department took place over Christmas break. The completed classes are: ladder training, asbestos awareness, bloodborne pathogens, personal protective equipment and hazardous material communication. The maintenance technicians have also been attending courses for electrical safety.
Custodial Staff
With the flu season still upon us, the custodial staff continues to disinfect door knobs and handles as much as possible as well as desk tops and table tops in classrooms. Extra hand sanitizers have been placed around campus.
Over Christmas break, grounds and custodial personnel assisted the library staff with the relocating of several employee offices to new locations to create a study room.
Grounds
With limited amounts of snow to deal with, the grounds staff has been busy painting various areas around campus, including offices, bathrooms, stairwells, student union, various rooms in the library and Marian Hall basement laundry room and hallways.
