Viterbo University announces a new degree completion program
for counselors working in the area of addiction studies. If you have a two year degree in human
services or AODA counseling that is licensed by the State of Wisconsin
Department of Safety and Professional Studies* you are eligible to enter this
bachelor’s degree completion program. Transfer all of your previous credits and we can help you earn a
bachelor’s degree from anywhere in the state by attending our online
Addiction Studies program. Increase your
knowledge, meet other professionals in your field, and move up in your
career.
You will leave this program with practical skills for
serving AODA clientele. You will be
involved in videotaped counseling sessions, ongoing evaluation of your counseling
skills, and "hands on" learning activities that will expand your counseling and
overall professional skills. As a
Viterbo student you will be engaged in applying current research and outcome
assessment of your client's progress. Viterbo's focus on motivational interviewing and evidence based practice
will give students an advantage in the job market. By completing your bachelor’s degree you will
have met the new state requirement (Wisconsin Department of Safety and
Professional Services) by the 2014 deadline.
