August is National Black Business Month!

August is National Black Business Month. Designed to shed light on Black ownership and encourage others to support Black-owned businesses, the month was started by Frederick E. Jordan who, when he began his company in 1969 noticed that there weren’t many financing options for black entrepreneurs.  Remembering his own experiences, Jordan partnered with John William Templeton in 2004 to turn August into National Black Business Month.  Check out the library's virtual display!
