Camp Creative to Take Place at Viterbo University June 25–29

For the 25th year, Viterbo University will host Camp Creative, which will be held at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center June 25–29 from 8:30 a.m.–noon. Children ages 5–11 are welcome and must have completed kindergarten to attend.

John Desmond, a community leader known for his ability to get things done, Mike Desmond, a retired educator who has provided tremendous leadership with organizations that serve area youth, and Helen Elsbernd, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration who has always felt called to serve, are the 2018 recipients of the Viterbo University Saint John XXIII Award for Distinguished Service.

Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

La Crosse Arts Organizations to Release Findings of Major Economic Impact Study at Press Conference June 29

La Crosse area arts organizations will unveil the results of Arts & Economic Prosperity 5, the most comprehensive economic impact study of the City of La Crosse’s nonprofit arts industry ever conducted. A press conference will take place Thursday, June 29 at 5:15 p.m. at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.

Viterbo University Awarded $1.64 Million U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Nursing Workforce Diversity Program Grant

Viterbo University was awarded a $1.64 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Nursing Workforce Diversity Program. The funds will be used to support Viterbo’s Nurses for Underserved Rural Students Seeking Educational Success (NURSES) program.

Darryle Clott, a Holocaust educator who has played a crucial role in bringing Holocaust survivors to the La Crosse area to share their incredible and inspiring stories, and Dick and Sheila Wieser, outstanding advocates for children and people facing challenging circumstances, are the recipients of the Viterbo University 2017 Saint John XXIII Award for Distinguished Service.

Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. The event was rescheduled from Jan. 16 due to inclement weather.

More than $11,800 Awarded to Area Schools to Attend Performances at Viterbo University

Viterbo University, with financial assistance from Macy’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota, has awarded over $11,800 to area schools to help offset the costs of field trips to see performances at the university.

Registration Open for Viterbo University's Franciscan Core Summer Service Camp

Viterbo University will host Franciscan CORE, a five-day summer service camp for high school students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in the fall who are interested in Catholic Social Teaching and serving their communities. The residential program takes place Sunday, June19 through Friday, June 24.
