[Bowling] V-Hawk to Host Annual Bowling Invitational at Pla-Mor Lanes

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's and Women's Bowling teams will host their seventh-annual Viterbo University V-Hawk Invitational at Pla-Mor Lanes on Saturday, February 3. Individual competition will begin at 12:00 p.m (CST) with Baker Games following after four individual games are completed. The competition will last until approximately 7:00 p.m. Admission to the V-Hawk Invite is free.

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University Director of Athletics Barry Fried announced Friday that Molly Mullaney has been named the V-Hawks' first-ever Head Dance Coach. Viterbo University added the intercollegiate sport in the fall of 2017.

MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association announced their 2017 Fall Sports Scholar-Athletes on Thursday. The list represents members of the conference's women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, and football teams. Viterbo University registered a total of 58 student-athletes in the list, second-most in the nine-team conference.

MENOMINEE, Wis. – The Viterbo Indoor Track & Field team competed in the Warren Bowlus Open at the UW-Stout Sports and Fitness Center on Saturday. The V-Hawks broke four school records: Men's and Women's 4x200 m relay, Men's High Jump, and Women's Long Jump. Viterbo athletes also recorded an event win, 10 top-three finishes, and numerous personal bests.

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo defeated the University of Jamestown, 82-73, at R.W. Beggs Senior Gymnasium on Friday. Jason Tichy (JR/Springville, Iowa) scored 20+ points for the fifth time this season. Cade Anderson (JR/Sparta, Wis.) also racked up another double-double. Viterbo improved to 14-9 overall and 6-5 in NSAA play. Jamestown fell to 15-7 overall and 5-5 in conference play.

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo lost to the #6 University of Jamestown, 90-52, at R.W. Beggs Senior Gymnasium on Friday. Alyssa Nilssen earned her sixth double-double of the season in the loss. The V-Hawks fell to an overall record of 5-18 and 2-9 in NSAA play. Jamestown (ranked in the Jan. 23 NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll) improved to an overall record of 21-3 and 10-0 in conference play.  

[Women's Basketball] V-Hawks' Vandenberg Inducted into Colorado High School Athletics Hall of Fame

AURORA, Colo. – V-Hawks Women's Basketball Head Coach Bobbi Vandenberg was inducted into the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Hall of Fame at the Radisson Hotel-Denver Southeast on Wednesday night. Vandenberg, former head coach of the Boulder High School girls' basketball team for nine seasons, and eight other former players, coaches, officials, and administrators made up the 29th class in the Hall of Fame's history.

MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association announced today that Viterbo senior forward and La Crosse-native Ethan Haberman (SR/La Crosse, Wis.) was named the conference's Player-of-the-Week for his performances against Bellevue and Waldorf on Friday and Saturday. Haberman averaged 25.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over both games.

MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association announced Monday that Viterbo sophomore forward Alyssa Nilssen (SO/Wilson, Wis.) was named the conference's Player-of-the-Week for her performances against Bellevue and Waldorf on Friday and Saturday. Nilssen nearly averaged a double-double over both games (16.5 points/9.0 rebounds).

Matt Matel (JR/Marathon, Wis.) finished third in the 60-meter hurdles event. The V-Hawks collected three top-3 finishes. No team scores were taken, allowing the meet to serve as training competition before the North Star Athletic Association Indoor Championships in February.

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo defeated Waldorf University, 77-73, at R.W. Beggs Senior Gymnasium on Saturday. The V-Hawks used a 26-4 run at the start of the second half to overcome an eight-point deficit and pull out the win. Ethan Haberman (SR/La Crosse, Wis.) scored a career-high 38 points. Haberman passed Scott Keonen for 19th all-time in school history in career points scored. Viterbo improved to an overall record of 13-9 and 5-5 in NSAA play.
