Thursday, March 21 is the deadline to apply to be an Orientation Leader. The process is simple, the job is rewarding, and you get to meet a lot of great people. The Viterbo community is invited to join Susan Cosby Ronnenberg and Kelly R. Samuels, English, at the “Deadwood & Poetry: The Word’s the Thing” reception at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 21 in the Murphy Center fifth floor Honors Lounge. Cosby Ronnenberg’s book, Deadwood and Shakespeare: The Henriad in the Old West was released last year. Samuels’s book Words Some of Us Rarely Use came out in January. Both will discuss their books for a brief time. Copies will be available for sale, and cookies will be served.
Countdown to Commencement Event for spring candidates for commencement is Thursday, March 28 from 3–5:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. Candidates for commencement can pick up their cap and gown, order graduation announcements, diploma frame, class ring, find out about alumni benefits, contribute to the Senior Class gift, do a Shout Out, have a complimentary professional digital and/or graduation photo taken, and find out about Viterbo’s graduate programs. The Viterbo Hospitality Committee will host a Spring Soup Social for employees from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Tuesday March 26 in the Reinhart Center Board Room. There is a suggested donation of $3 for the lunch, which includes a bowl of soup, rolls, and deserts. Soup options are chicken tortellini and vegetable soup (vegetarian and gluten free).
