VITERBO LEADERSHIP AT NOON SERIES TO OPEN WITH BARBARA NICK AND BRIAN RUDE OF DAIRYLAND POWER OCT. 31
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Dairyland Power President and CEO Barbara Nick and Vice President of External and Member Relations Brian Rude will open the 2017–18 Viterbo University Leadership at Noon series Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Reinhart Center room 107.
Formed in 1941, Dairyland Power is a generation and transmission cooperative based in La Crosse with 555 employees serving 600,000 consumers in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. It had an operating revenue of $414 million in 2016 and has total assets of $1.5 billion.
Nick joined Dairyland Power as president and CEO in 2014. Under her leadership, Dairyland Power Cooperative has focused on resource diversification and sustainability. Dairyland’s solar investment doubled the solar generation in Wisconsin during 2016. The cooperative has also announced a variety of wind power purchase agreements. Nick as over 36 years of experience in the energy industry, including posts as president of Minnesota Energy Resources, president of Michigan Gas Utility, and president of Upper Peninsula Power.
As vice president of external and member relations, Rude is responsible for government relations, community and member relations, communications, printing and graphics, administrative services, and energy efficiency. Rude has an extensive career background in politics. In 1982, he was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly and in 1984, to the Wisconsin State Senate. On two occasions, he served as president of the Senate, from 1993-96 and again in 1998.
All Leadership at Noon series events are held from noon–1 p.m. in the Reinhart Center and are free and open to the public.
