VITERBO’S BRIGHT STAR SEASON PERFORMANCE OF TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE STARRING JAMIE FARR CANCELLED
LA CROSSE, Wis. - Viterbo University’s Bright Star Season performance of Tuesdays with Morrie starring Jamie Farr from TV’s M*A*S*H, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, has been cancelled due to some of the cast and production team not receiving work visas to work in the U.S.
The Viterbo Fine Arts Center was recently informed that Farr had left the production due to another actor and the director, who are Canadian, not receiving work visas from the Department of Homeland Security. The touring production was supposed to be a remount of a successful Toronto production featuring Farr and this particular actor and director. While the production company is appealing the decision, the appeal process could take months, and the production will not be ready in time.
“It’s always disappointing when we have to cancel a production, but given the circumstances and the limited timeframe, it was unavoidable,” said Michael Ranscht, director of the Fine Arts Center. “Our first concern is always about our patrons, and we will be working diligently over the next few days to ensure that ticket holders are notified.”
Ticket holders will be contacted by the Box Office about the cancellation and options for receiving a refund. Anyone with questions may contact the Viterbo Box Office at 608-796-3100 or email@example.com.
