THE MUSICAL TALE OF PETER RABBIT AT VITERBO
MARCH 18
LA
CROSSE, Wis. – Children and their adult companions will be delighted as the
classic children’s tale comes to life on the Viterbo University Fine Arts
Center Main Theatre stage in The Musical
Tale of Peter Rabbit at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18.
Young
and confident, Peter Rabbit believes he knows better than Mama Rabbit. He is
determined to go to Farmer McGregor’s forbidden garden, and embarks on a
musical adventure to the paradise carrot patch. Peter gets a taste of fresh
vegetables, but also of the perils of trespassing.
Children
will love watching the thoroughly Scottish Farmer McGregor in hot pursuit as
rascal Peter Rabbit hops, scampers, and finally eludes the towering farmer.
Peter returns to Mama Rabbit to face the music, but learns the valuable lesson,
“it’s better to be good than bad!”
The Musical Tale of Peter Rabbit is
brought to you by Bits ’n Pieces Puppet Theatre, which is “dedicated to
influencing the world of tomorrow by enchanting the children of today.” Through
the theatrical telling of classic children’s stories, each with its own unique
life lesson and moral, Bits ’n Pieces brings to life the magical wonderment of
children’s fantasy and reinforces the core values long emphasized by great
storytellers.
This
performance is part of Viterbo’s Arts for Young America Family Series and is
sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Wisconsin and
Southeastern Minnesota and by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds
from the State of Wisconsin.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children on
