SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR TO PERFORM AT VITERBO MARCH 15 

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Soweto Gospel Choir will bring their outstanding vocal talents, earthy rhythms, and rich harmonies to the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre when they perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15.

Fifty-two members strong, Soweto is a two-time Grammy Award-winning choir that has been heralded as one of the most exciting groups to emerge in world music in recent years. The group hails from South Africa and has performed throughout the world and received numerous prestigious awards.

Soweto performs both traditional and contemporary music with its own unique feel and interpretation, including dancing and vibrant costumes. Audiences will feel the music in their heart.

This performance is co-sponsored by Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare and Wisconsin Public Radio and by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
