LA CROSSE, Wis. – Enjoy a brand new take on a classic story as Missoula Children’s Theatre presents Cinderella at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

The cast of Cinderella will be local youth. The Missoula Children’s Theatre Company will spend a week on campus working with area young people to mount this full-scale musical. Open auditions for youth in grades K–12 will be held from 3:45–5:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. The cast will be announced at 5:45 p.m. that evening, and rehearsals will be held from 4–8:30 p.m. each evening the rest of the week. Parents are welcome but not required to attend the auditions and rehearsals.

This version of Cinderella features a pumpkin coach, Prince Charming, a glass slipper and a dream come true woven together by the magic of a Fairy Godmother in this enchanting musical. When Cinderella’s stepsisters try to keep Cinderella from attending the ball, the Fairy Godmother enlists the help of the Mice and the Pumpkins and is able to transform Cinderella just in time for the big event. Also featured in the production are Cleo the Cat, Fido the Dog, the Lords and Ladies, the Town Criers, the King, and the Beggars.

This production is part of Viterbo’s Ronald McDonald Arts for Young America Family Series and is sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota and in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin.

Tickets are $10 for adult and $8 for child main floor seating, $8 for adult and $6 for child lower balcony seating, and $6 for adult and $4 for child upper balcony seating. For more information, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit
