40TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBIT TO OPEN IN VITERBO UNIVERSITY GALLERY SEPT. 7
LA CROSSE, Wis. – A special exhibit commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Viterbo University Gallery will open with a reception and a look back at the gallery’s history from 7:30–9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7.
“Since the Fine Arts Center opened in 1971, artists from around the world have visited Viterbo University to exhibit and discuss art with students, faculty, and community members,” said Jason Skoog, a Viterbo alumnus who is serving as curator of the show. “This exhibit represents the collective ideas and visions of many professional and student artists over the past 40 years.”
The exhibit will feature paintings, drawings, prints, photographic prints, documentary photographs, ceramics and three-dimensional objects, posters, and other miscellaneous art.
The “40th Anniversary Exhibit” will run until Friday, Sept. 30. There is no admission fee to the gallery, which is located on the third floor of the Fine Arts Center on campus. The gallery is open from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. when school is in session.
