JUMP RHYTHM JAZZ PROJECT AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY APRIL 30
LA CROSSE, Wis. –Viterbo University will host Jump Rhythm Jazz Project Friday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
Jump Rhythm Jazz Project will provide an evening of rhythmically explosive, emotion-driven, dance that celebrates the timeless core of jazz while innovating the art of jazz-based American rhythm dancing.
These artists of diverse ages and cultures transform their dancing bodies into high-energy percussion instruments of shared rhythm and song. Jump Rhythm Jazz Project will expand upon the art of classic jazz through bursts of body rhythm to the sounds of swinging jazz, the blues, Latin jazz, and blues-tinged funk.
The mission statement of this nonprofit organization is to honor, innovate, and celebrate the joys of shared rhythm. The company pursues this mission by offering a broad program of performances in combination with demonstrations, classes, and workshops that promote community bonding values through musical expression.
This performance is part of the Bright Star Season and is sponsored by WKBT News Channel 8 and by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
Tickets $28 for upper balcony seating. For more information, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or boxoffice@viterbo.edu.
