VITERBO UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT ROOM SERVICE OCT. 16–18
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Audiences will laugh out loud at the Viterbo University theatre department’s presentation of the classic screwball farce Room Service in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre Friday, Oct. 16–Sunday, Oct. 18.
What do you get when you put an unsuccessful Broadway producer desperate to find a backer for his new show in a hotel with hungry actors and a ballooning room service bill? This hilarious production of Room Service is brought to life by some of Viterbo’s most talented theatre students.
Room Service was written by John Murray and Allen Boretz and opened on Broadway in 1937. Over 500 performances were staged during the depths of the Great Depression and it was later made into a Marx Brothers film. Almost 70 years after its premier, audiences across the country continue to enjoy this lively and entertaining play. This Viterbo production is directed by faculty member David Gardiner.
Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16–17 and 2 p.m. Oct. 18. Room Service is part of Viterbo’s Bright Star Season and is sponsored by The Lukasek Family Endowment Fund.
Tickets are $17 for main floor, $16 for lower balcony, and $13 for upper balcony seating. For more information, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or www.viterbo.edu/fac.
