LA CROSSE, Wis. – Enjoy the timeless tradition of classical Russian ballet as the Russian National Ballet performs Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

The Russian National Ballet was founded during Perestroika, a time when many great artists were able to exercise their creative freedom. The company is dedicated to classical Russian ballet, but is also willing to accept new ideas and techniques from around the world.

Sergei Radchenko was appointed by presidential decree as the Russian National Ballet’s first permanent artistic director. He is a graduate of the Moscow School of Dance and is a 25-year veteran of the Bolshoi Ballet.

This performance is sponsored by Gundersen Lutheran and by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin.

Tickets are $30 for seats in the upper balcony. For more information, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100
