VITERBO TO HOST STATEWIDE WURHA CONFERENCE FEB. 25-26
LA CROSSE, Wis. - More than 375 students from 18 colleges and universities across the state will visit La Crosse as Viterbo University hosts the 2005 Wisconsin University Residence Hall Association (WURHA) Conference Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26.
“The conference is usually hosted by one of the large state universities,” said Jason Ramaker, Viterbo director of Residence Life. “This is quite an honor for Viterbo. Our students have done an outstanding job putting this together. The conference will attest to their hard work.”
The WURHA conference is held annually and is awarded to the hosting school after an extensive bid process. Major goals of the WURHA conference are to give participants an opportunity to get together with people from other schools to share information about their respective schools and programs and to recognize outstanding achievements by member schools and students in a variety of areas over the last year. WURHA is an organization designed to promote communication and provide leadership opportunities to college students who live in the residence halls on their respective campuses.
The upcoming conference will feature various presentations, meetings, competitions, and social events. Students will arrive at the Best Western Hotel between 3-6 p.m. Feb. 25 and will check out the morning of Sunday, Feb. 27.
“The visiting students will get see our beautiful and friendly campus,” Ramaker said. “And local businesses will also benefit.”
