GILBERT AND SULLIVAN'S COMIC OPERETTA THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE AT VITERBO FEB. 25-27
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Join in a saga full of British slapstick, tender-hearted pirates, and frolicsome maidens as Viterbo University presents The Pirates of Penzance Friday-Sunday, Feb. 25-27.
Follow the adventures of main character Frederic, who as a child was mistakenly apprenticed to a band of pirates. Now with his obligations fulfilled at age 21, Frederic believes he is free to start a new life with his wife Mabel. Unfortunately for Frederic, he learns he was born on Feb. 29, and thus not yet truly 21 years old. Despite Mabel's pleas, duty bound, he returns to the humorous world of pirates with all its twists and turns.
This performance is co-sponsored by Courtyard by Marriott and USbank. Performance times are Friday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. Tickets are $12/$15. For more information, contact the Viterbo University Box Office at 608-796-3100.
