CLASSIC COMEDY MY COUSIN'S WEDDING AT VITERBO NOV. 17
LA CROSSE, Wis.-- Second City Theatricals presents a night of hilarious disaster and quirky fun as My Cousin's Wedding hits the Viterbo University stage Wednesday, Nov. 17.
Although a wedding may inflict stress on the couple getting married, it's often no picnic for the invited guests. My Cousin's Wedding follows the plight of Mike and Meg, an unmarried couple who just received an invitation to a wedding. From picking out the right wedding gift, to getting lost on the way to church, to the humiliation of performing the chicken dance, My Cousin's Wedding confronts all the passions and pressures of those bearing witness.
My Cousin's Wedding stars Niki Lindgren and Kirk Hanley, who wrote the play while on stage at the legendary Second City comedy theatre. Since 1959, Second City has been the springboard for generations of the comedy world's best and brightest. The alumni list reads like a who's who of comedy greats: Bill Murray, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Martin Short, Mike Myers, and Tina Fey all got their start at Second City Theatricals.
This performance is sponsored by Celebration Limousines, LLC and by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin. Performance time is 7:30 p.m. in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. Tickets are $18. For more information, contact the Viterbo University Box Office at 608-796-3100
