“THE THEATRE OF THE HOLOCAUST” AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY OCT. 17

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- University of Wisconsin-Madison Professor Robert Skloot, Ph.D., will examine “The Theatre of the Holocaust” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17 in room 127 of Viterbo University’s Reinhart Center.
 
The presentation will explore how the Holocaust has been portrayed in theatre while paying particular attention to the ethical issues and confusions of the victims. The lecture will be of special interest to students and faculty in theatre, philosophy, history, and other subjects.
 
Skloot is the author of The Darkness We Carry: The Drama of the Holocaust. He has published numerous essays, has won several teaching awards, and has served as a Fulbright Professor of Drama in Israel, Austria, and Chile. He holds an appointment with the Jewish Studies Program and also serves as its director.

The event is free and open to the public and reservations are not required. It is sponsored by the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership, the La Crosse County Community Theatre and the Viterbo University Theatre Department.
