VITERBO STUDENTS BEGIN RETURNING TO CAMPUS AUG. 27

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Viterbo University students will begin returning to campus Friday, Aug. 27 before officially beginning the academic year Monday, Aug. 30.

First-year students will move into Marian Hall North and South, located on the corner of Ninth and Market Streets, on Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. New student orientation is Aug. 27-29 and includes campus tours, meetings with advisors, and social activities.

Events scheduled for Student Orientation are:

Friday, Aug. 27

  • 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Move-in day for first-year students
  • 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Alumni Association Chicken-Q
  • 2-4 p.m. Parent/Family Reception
  • 4 p.m. Welcome and Blessing Ceremony for students and families
  • 5 p.m. Good-bye to Parents
  • 5:30-6:45 p.m. Dinner and the Tom and Earl Show
  • 7 p.m. Transfer Student Meeting
  • 8 p.m. Mandatory Floor Meetings/O’ Family Assignments and Floor Socials

Saturday, Aug. 28

  • 9-9:45 a.m. O’Family Meetings
  • 10 a.m. Making it Count Presentation
  • 12:15-12:30 p.m. O’Family Meeting: Survival Tips
  • 12:30-3:30 p.m. O’Family Rotations: social decision making, learning center, e-mail training, and campus tour
  • 3:30-4 p.m. O’Family Meetings
  • 7-8 p.m. Comedy Troupe
  • 9-10:30 p.m. Ice Cream Social
  • 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Dance

Sunday, Aug. 29

  • 11 a.m. Campus Mass
  • 1 p.m. Transfer Student Meeting
  • 1:30 p.m. Research Tips and Tricks
  • 1-5 p.m. Optional Leisure Time Activities
  • 6 p.m. Mass
  • 7 p.m. Meetings by Major -- meet with professors and fellow students
  • 7 p.m. Movie FAC Recital Hall

Monday, Aug. 30 -- The First Day of Classes

  • 8 a.m. Meet with Advisor
  • 9 a.m. Work Study positions sign-up
  • 9 a.m. Classes begin -- Good Luck
