VITERBO RECEIVES XCEL ENERGY GRANT, CREATES SCHOLARSHIPS
LA CROSSE, WIS. -- Viterbo University has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Xcel Energy Foundation.
Viterbo will use the money to create two $2,500 scholarships for incoming freshman women majoring in chemistry or math. The winners of the scholarships will be announced sometime in June.
Women are underrepresented in the science, technology, engineering, and math disciplines at Viterbo and throughout the United States, and Viterbo is committed to supporting women in science. The Xcel Energy Foundation typically funds “scholarship and intern programs focused on mathematics, science, and technical or environmental areas of study as they relate to the energy industry.”
