PEKING ACROBATS WILL ENTERTAIN AND AMAZE AT VITERBO MARCH 30
LA CROSSE, Wis. ? China’s Peking Acrobats will entertain and amaze with their display of dexterity, flexibility, and control in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre Tuesday, March 30.
The Peking Acrobats are a troupe of China’s most gifted tumblers, contortionists, jugglers, cyclists, and gymnasts complimented by live music. Their performances include “daring maneuvers atop a precarious pagoda of chairs, treacherous wire walking, amazing displays of contortion, flexibility, and control, powerful precision tumbling, somersaulting and gymnastics, astonishing foot juggling dexterity, incredible balancing feats, and exhibits of agility and grace.”
Only China’s best acrobats are in professional troupes that tour the world. Their craft takes many years of dedicated practice, and many begin as early as five or six years of age. The art created by acrobats can be traced back to the Ch’in Dynasty (221 B.C. to 207 B.C.).
Performance time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $26/20. For information, contact the Viterbo University Box Office at 608-796-3100 or explore the Bright Star Season.
