VITERBO TO HOST ANNUAL ETHICS CONFERENCE APRIL 1-3
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Author Terry Tempest Williams and conservationist Calvin DeWitt will be the keynote speakers at the annual Ethics Across the Disciplines Conference at Viterbo University April 1-3.
The conference, entitled “StewardshipCaring for the Earth and its Inhabitants” will examine stewardship-its idea and practical implications. The conference is designed to “bring scholars from throughout the nation into conversation with students, faculty, staff, and other members of the La Crosse community to discuss the meaning and implications of traditional ethical values and practices that are fundamental to the Franciscan and Catholic heritage of Viterbo University.” Participating are members of the Midwest Region Society of Christian Philosophers and Ethics Across the Disciplines.
Terry Tempest Williams’ presentation “Ground Truthing” Thursday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre opens the conference. Events continue throughout April 2 and April 3 and include Calvin DeWitt’s presentation “Stewardship Dynamics” at 7:30 p.m. April 2 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. The keynote addresses are free and open to the public. People attending the keynote addresses do not have to be registered at the conference. All other events will occur in the Reinhart Center.
