WINDHAM HILL WINTER SOLSTICE TO PERFORM AT VITERBO DEC. 3
LA CROSSE, Wis.Celebrate the holidays with an evening of elegance and musical magic as Viterbo University welcomes Windham Hill Winter Solstice on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Winter Solstice is a holiday tradition across America and includes Grammy Award Nominee Will Ackerman, recording artist Tracy Silverman, multi-talented instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Barbara Higbie, and world-renowned pianist Phillip Aaberg.
Guitarist and founder, Ackerman has recorded 10 of his own CDs over the years and performed at many concert halls throughout the world. Silverman, one of the foremost electric violinists of today, was a featured violinist and record producer on CBS News Sunday Morning and was the first violinist with the Turtle Island String Quartet for years. Higbie is a championship fiddle player, pianist, and singer who co-founded the acoustic group Montreux and has played on more than 45 albums, including Bonnie Raitt’s. Aaberg has performed his American-West inspired chamber music all over the world and worked with a diverse group of artists, including Peter Gabriel, Elvin Bishop, and Paul Dresher. Together, this group makes for a night of enchanting Christmas music that is sure to encapsulate the spirit of the holiday.
