VITERBO PARISH NURSE MINISTRY PROGRAM’S DAY OF ENRICHMENT FOR NURSES AT FRANCISCAN SPIRITUALITY CENTER MARCH 27
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Parish Nurse Ministry program’s Third Annual Day of Enrichment will be held Friday, March 27 from 8:30 a.m.–4:15 p.m. at the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse. The event will be a day of learning, sharing, and renewal for parish nurses and people interested in this ministry.
Rev. Deborah Patterson, executive director of the International Parish Nurse Resource Center in St. Louis, will serve as the keynote speaker at the event. The International Parish Nurse Resource Center serves 70 congregations and faith-based agencies, overseeing the international program for curriculum development, research, and support for parish nurses in the U.S. and abroad. Patterson is the author of four books on health ministry, editor of Parish Nurse Perspectives, a quarterly publication for parish nurses, and a frequent speaker on health ministries. She holds a Doctorate of Ministry in Theology and a master’s degree in health care administration, as well as a bachelor’s and master’s degree in music ministry and music education.
“We are honored to have someone with her expertise coming to La Crosse to talk about the role of parish nurses in health ministry as well as present on a number of topics for parish nurses in our region,” said Silvana Richardson, dean of the Viterbo School of Nursing.
