BURNING RIVER BRASS SETS VITERBO STAGE ON FIRE
LA CROSSE, Wis.Experience 12 of the finest brass and percussion players in the country as Burning River Brass presents its contemporary arrangements of classic works and original brass at Viterbo University on Sunday, Nov. 23.
When Burning River Brass isn’t touring the country, its members perform with critically acclaimed groups like the Cleveland Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony. Plus, they've and made several other in-concert appearances throughout the U.S.
Through it all, the ensemble has maintained its reputation of refined sound, exceptional technique, and overall uncompromised musicianship in order to present one of the most eclectic shows possible.
This dynamic group can also be heard on several movie soundtracks, commercial recordings, television, and radio. Its first project for Dorian Recordings, Of Knights and Castles, is an in-depth look at musical pageantry, and its newest release, Russian Carnival, features works by Russian composers and new work by street song artist, Anthony DiLorenzo.
Burning River Brass is sponsored by the Courtyard by Mariott and Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, Mayo Health System, and supported, in part, by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the state of Wisconsin.
Show time is 2 p.m. and tickets are $26/20. For more information, contact the Viterbo University Box Office at 608-796-3100 or explore the Bright Star Season.
