VITERBO’S NEXSTAR SEASON FOR 2003-04 FILLED WITH MUST-SEE SHOWS
LA CROSSE, Wis.—Comedy and music reign in the 2003-04 NexStar Season at Viterbo University. Held in the Fine Arts Center’s Main Theatre, the NexStar Season begins in October. The events are:
- All the Great Books (Abridged), Tuesday, Oct. 21, 7:30 p.m.—Presented by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, one of America’s most popular comedy troupes, this show takes its audience on a wild ride through a compact compendium of the world’s Great Books.
- Tonic Sol-Fa, Saturday, Nov. 8, 7:30 p.m.—Hot vocal percussions, smooth, sweet melodies and harmonies, innovative arrangements all mark the style of Tonic-Sol-Fa. A male a cappella group, they were recently voted one of the top five "must-see" groups in America.
- The Arrogant Worms, Wednesday, Jan. 21, 7:30 p.m.—As purveyors of the absurd and ambassadors of fun, the Worms liken themselves to a life raft in a cesspool of popular music. This musical comedy trio seamlessly blends words, music, and humor.
- Solas and bohola, Friday, March 26, 7:30 p.m.—Two groups will provide a feast of Irish music. Solas has been acclaimed by many as the most exciting Irish traditional group in the world. They will be joined by bohola, an acoustic power trio known for their driving, muscular, and very emotive style of Irish music.
Viterbo continues its tradition of providing outstanding local, national, and international performances at the Fine Arts Center. NexStar events range from comedies and music to dance and feature rising stars with a cutting edge. NexStar Season events are supported, in part, by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
Season tickets are on sale through June 30. Individual tickets will be available on Aug. 20. For additional information on NexStar Season events, please contact the Viterbo Fine Arts Center Box Office at 608-796-3100 or check out their Web site at www.viterbo.edu/academic/ug/sfa/nexstar.htm.
