“THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSITY IN THE 21ST CENTURY” AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY FEB. 17
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Nationally renowned diversity speaker Eddie Moore, Ph.D., will present “The Importance of Diversity in the 21st Century” at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 in the Viterbo University Varsity Athletics Center.
The event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
“Dr. Moore is a dynamic speaker who will not only educate but challenge you to step forward to explore the diversity changes in our community and country,” said Bernie Ferry, co-director of the Viterbo University Master of Arts in Education Educational Leadership program.
Known for his ability to motivate students of all ages into action, Moore speaks nationally and internationally on topics related to diversity, culture, and self-esteem enhancement. He earned a Ph.D. in social foundations in education from the University of Iowa and a master’s degree in educational administration from Loras College in Dubuque. He serves as the director of diversity at The Bush School in Seattle.
In addition to his public events, Moore will speak to various groups of students, faculty, and employees at Viterbo University.
“Dr. Moore has an incredible ability to make people come together despite their differences,” said Viterbo student Bethany Zellmer, who has heard him speak previously. “I’ve never been so impressed by a speaker before, and I really respect everything he has done for people of all backgrounds, especially being a woman of color.”
